Fortification is specific to the label
Fortified milk is not always whole milk. These records do not establish added iron or calcium in every product. Vitamin D values belong to the individual record, not all fortified milks.
A cup has a recorded weight
The USDA portion for the vitamin-D-added whole milk is 1 cup weighing 244 g. We use that recorded mass rather than assume a volume in milliliters has the same number of grams. The 200–250 g range is a separate editorial cup-size scenario.
USDA records: compare the same edible weight
Each reference row is per 100 g. Food states and alternatives stay separate. Additional soda rows use the recorded can weight. Missing nutrients stay Unknown; a displayed zero can be a small value rounded to one decimal.

Portion scenarios and calculation
Assumptions: 200–250 g vitamin-D-added whole milk. These weights are editorial models unless explicitly labeled USDA portions. Choose one alternative for each component; do not add alternative recipes together.
For every nutrient: USDA amount per 100 g × edible grams ÷ 100, summed across ingredients. The range is the minimum and maximum across the disclosed record alternatives and weight endpoints, calculated before rounding. Calories use whole kcal; g and mg use at most one decimal, with decimal ROUND_HALF_UP and no trailing zeros.

- 153 kcalFDC 171265 × 250 g
Combined scenario ranges: protein 6.3–7.9 g; fat 6.5–8.1 g; carbohydrate 9.6–12 g; fiber 0–0 g; total sugars 10.1–12.6 g; sodium 86–107.5 mg. Nutrient minima can come from different alternatives, so the low values do not necessarily describe one meal.
FDC 171265: vitamin D 1.3 µg per 100 g; 244 g per USDA cup; 3.2 µg vitamin D and 149 kcal per recorded cup.
FDC 172217: vitamin D 0.1 µg per 100 g; 244 g per USDA cup; 0.2 µg vitamin D and 149 kcal per recorded cup.
Plan the portion alongside other foods
Use a matching preparation and edible weight when logging each part of a meal. These guides explain separate foods or drink choices; their portion estimates are not interchangeable.
Common questions
Fortified milk?
This page is limited to US whole milk with added vitamin D. Whole milk without added vitamins A and D is a comparison record, not part of the fortified-milk serving range.
How is this estimate calculated?
Use the listed USDA records and 200–250 g vitamin-D-added whole milk. Multiply each per-100-g nutrient by edible grams divided by 100, then sum components. Alternatives are separate scenarios. The range describes the disclosed scenarios, not a confidence interval or official brand nutrition.
