Two ingredient references, one independent model

Kikkoman’s chicken sushi recipe supports chicken, rice, nori, avocado, cucumber and rolling. Its tempura recipe supports flour, egg, water and frying oil. Our hybrid is not either exact recipe and is not attributed to Taste of Home. Black pepper sauce from the chicken recipe is omitted.

Count attached batter and absorbed oil

Flour and egg rows mean the batter actually retained, not the whole mixing bowl. The oil row means an assumed 5–12 g absorbed, not the entire fryer. Absorption is a disclosed scenario assumption, not a measurement.

How is seaweed converted?

FDC 168458 contains 85.03 g water per 100 g raw laver. To model 0.5–1 g dry matter, divide by (1 βˆ’ 85.03 Γ· 100), giving 3.3–6.7 g raw equivalent after rounding. Use the unrounded factor in calculations. This cannot establish the exact composition of dried or roasted nori.

What changes the total?

The rice and chicken use cooked edible weights. Avocado varies from none to 30 g. Rice-seasoning sugar and distilled vinegar are included as assumptions; mayonnaise, sauces and extra frying oil are excluded and need separate entries.

USDA inputs and portion assumptions

Each row uses the stated edible ingredient grams. Rows below apply to the answer-box serving. Endpoints sum unrounded USDA amounts, then round once. A row with alternative records uses the minimum and maximum for each nutrient independently.

Common questions

How many calories are in a chicken tempura roll?

343–641 kcal per whole assumed roll. This is our simplified chicken tempura roll with cooked rice and chicken, attached flour-and-egg batter, absorbed oil, cucumber and optional avocado. It contains no mayonnaise.

Is this official nutrition data for the finished food?

No. USDA supplies generic ingredient records. The finished-food range is our estimate under the stated portions and recipe assumptions, not a brand or restaurant label. Actual food can fall outside it.

How do I adjust the serving?

Use each matching USDA record’s per-100-g amount Γ— edible grams Γ· 100, then add the ingredients before rounding. Keep raw and cooked weights matched to their respective records; extra sauces and oils need separate entries.
